Woman hacked to death over suspicion of witchcraft in SWGH

Ampati, Mar 20: In another shocker, a woman was brutally hacked to death in the early hours of Friday, Mar 20 at Jaluagre village near Rangsakona in South West Garo Hills.

The victim, identified as Nemjak Ch Marak, was allegedly attacked and killed following suspicions of practicing witchcraft. The incident occurred at dawn.

Confirming the incident, Superintendent of Police, South West Garo Hills, Vikash Verma said, “The incident happened at 5 am in the morning. due to suspicion of Witchcraft. Both the victim and accused are from the Garo community.

The accused was arrested by the SWGH police and necessary legal action has been taken as per BNS.”
