Guwahati, March 24: The Assam Royal Global University (RGU) will introduce Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes in Assamese from the upcoming academic session. The programmes will be designed in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP), according to a Press release.
Under the proposed structure, students enrolling in the programme will be able to obtain a
Bachelor’s degree after three years (six semesters). Those who continue for an additional year
(two semesters) will receive a Bachelor’s degree with Honours, while students securing 75%
or above will be eligible for a Bachelor’s degree with Honours and Research.
The programme will follow an integrated and flexible academic framework, allowing
students to pursue a one-year postgraduate programme after completing the four-year
undergraduate course. Thus, the full academic pathway will extend to five years, culminating
in the award of an MA degree in Assamese.
In line with the provisions of the National Education Policy, the programme will also offer
multiple exit options. Students may exit after three years (six semesters) with a bachelor’s
degree, after four years (eight semesters) with a bachelor’s degree with honours or honours
with research or complete the five-year integrated pathway to obtain a master’s degree.
