Tangier (Morocco), March 28: None of the Indian shooters could qualify for the finals of the skeet events at the ISSF World Cup for Shotgun here on Saturday.
Olympian Maheshwari Chauhan came close to a top-eight spot after finishing the first day of qualification with a score of 69 out of 75.
She shot 23 and 21 in the fourth and fifth series for a final score of 113, two short of 115 scored by Reem Ghanem Al-Sharshani of Qatar who took the final qualifying spot.
Darshana Rathore who shot a perfect 25 in the final series finished in 19th place, just below Maheshwari, with a score of 112. Her younger sibling, Yashasvi Rathore, shot 22 and 24 in the final rounds to finish in 23rd place with a score of 110. Areeba Khan and Mansi Raghuwanshi who were competing for ranking points finished the competition after scoring 112 each.
In the men’s category, Parampal Singh Guron ended in 26th place with a score of 117 after finishing the last two series with 23 and 24 hits, respectively.
Jyotiradiya Singh Sisodiya finished 62nd with a score of 108 followed by Man Singh who finished with a score of 105 in 65th place. Sukhbir Singh Harika and Harmehar Singh Lally, competing for ranking points, hit 113 and 102 respectively. (PTI)
