Seminar on cross-border security in NE

SHILLONG, April 9: The Meghalaya chapter of the Forum For Awareness Of National Security (FANS) hosted a seminar on “Cross-border security and internal stability in North East India: Challenges and Responses” at the Meghalaya Human Rights Commission on Wednesday.
The discussion featured key speakers including FANS National General Secretary (Org) Vikramaditya Singh, former Secretary (Security) of the Cabinet Secretariat Bijan Kumar Dey (IPS Retd), Ambassador Riewad V Warjri, and Dr. Anup Sekhar Chakraborty, Associate Professor of Political Science at NEHU.
The event saw active participation from prominent citizens and experts deliberating on the regional security landscape. FANS, a national organization headquartered in Delhi with chapters across the North East, focuses on promoting national security awareness and the concept of “one nation.”
The FANS Meghalaya team is led by president Peter J Hanaman (IPS Retd), state coordinator and general secretary Deeya Rathore, vice presidents SP Mahanta, Prof Santaram Joshi and Anuradha Paul, along with treasurer Vijay Goyal and secretary Bhuvan Singh Rathore.
