Hathaway’s Mother Mary role inspired by Taylor Swift
Hollywood star Anne Hathaway took inspiration from Grammy winner Taylor Swift for her new movie Mother Mary, as per the film’s director David Lowery. The 43-year-old actress takes on the role of a pop star who has a ‘psychosexual affair’ with a fashion designer, played by Michaela Coel in the upcoming film. He told Empire magazine: “Her Reputation concert film is one of the best concert films ever. It’s truly phenomenal. And for our concert sequences we looked at that repeatedly. You would not believe the amount of time we were talking about Taylor.” (IANS)
Netflix leaves Perfect after Millie Bobby Brown’s exit
The streaming platform Netflix has called it quits on the upcoming film Perfect following the exit by Hollywood star Millie Bobby Brown over creative differences. Brown was supposed to feature in the film, which was announced in September 2025. The actor would essay Kerri Strug, a member of the 1996 Magnificent Seven USA gymnastics team. Following the recent news of her exit from the project, the streaming platform has scraped the film, according to the entertainment news outlet Deadline. Brown will next feature in Enola Holmes 3, which is directed by Philip Barantini. She will also appear in Just Picture It, directed by Lee Toland Krieger and an adaptation of her novel Nineteen Steps. (PTI)
Anil Kapoor’s 24 to release on JioHotstar
Actor Anil Kapoor-starrer show, 24 is set to make a comeback on streaming platform JioHotstar. The action thriller show, which is an adaptation of the American series of the same name, ran for two seasons in India on Colours TV. It premiered in 2013, followed by the second season in 2016 and garnered wide acclaim for its taut storytelling and performances by the cast. It was helmed by Abhinay Deo from a script penned by Rensil D’Silva, and followed the story of Anti-Terrorist Unit (ATU) Chief Jai Singh Rathod (Kapoor) as he battles the odds in the line of duty over the course of 24 hours.
