Natl Games prep on track: Sports Minister

SHILLONG, April 11: The state government has assured that preparations for the 2027 National Games are proceeding as scheduled, with no major setbacks reported.
According to Sports Minister Wailadmiki Shylla, the work is progressing according to plan.
Expressing confidence that all arrangements will be finished on time, he noted that the government is committed to delivering a successful event to demonstrate Meghalaya’s capacity for hosting large-scale national competitions.
It may be mentioned that Meghalaya is slated to host the Games in early 2027.
Infrastructure development and facility upgrades are currently under way across several venues, primarily in Shillong and other key locations.
