23-year-old electrocuted to death in Ri-Bhoi

NONGPOH, April 13: A 23-year-old youth died on the spot early Monday morning after coming into contact with a snapped live electric wire at Killing village in Ri-Bhoi district.
The victim, identified as Robert M Marak of Model Village, was riding a borrowed scooty (ML10D5378) at approximately 6 am when he struck the live line lying across the road. He was electrocuted instantly.
Witnesses were unable to provide immediate assistance due to the danger posed by the high-voltage wire. The matter was subsequently reported to the Khanapara police station.
