Bethany Hospitals MS elected to governing body of CAHO in NE

SHILLONG, April 13: Medical Superintendent of Bethany Hospitals, Dr Rebekah LI Kharsaithiang, has been elected as the Zonal Representative for the Northeast Healthcare Division on the Governing Body of the Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organizations (CAHO).
The election took place during the 10th edition of CAHOCON, held on April 11-12 at the Chennai Trade Centre. The event also served as the first South Asia Regional Conference of the International Society for Quality in Health Care, focusing on healthcare quality and patient safety.
Inaugurated by former Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, the conference saw participation from over 2,500 delegates, including healthcare professionals, policymakers, and institutional leaders. Bethany Hospitals Administrative Officer, Dr Kyntiewlang Sanmiet, described the election as a significant milestone for the institution. He stated that the appointment reflects Dr Kharsaithiang’s professional expertise and the hospital’s commitment to patient-centric care. Sanmiet added that her leadership would contribute to strengthening healthcare standards at both regional and national levels.
