Shillong, April 16: Meghalaya delivered a commanding performance at the Asmita Khelo India Pencak Silat League 2025–26 (Senior National), emerging as the overall champions at the competition held from March 26 to 27 at the SAI STC, NEHU campus here.
Athletes representing the Meghalaya Pencak Silat Association excelled across multiple categories, securing a rich haul of medals to propel the host state to the top position in the championship standings.
Following the achievement, the victorious contingent called on Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Wailadmiki Shylla on Thursday, where they were felicitated for their accomplishment. The delegation was led by association president Dipshon Ryntathiang.
Among the standout performers, Khamtimon Rympei clinched gold in the Tanding category, while Libia Matong and Ilashimti Klein secured top honours in the Ganda events. Banrilang Muktieh added a silver medal in Tanding, and Promisedora Khymdeit contributed a bronze, capping off a memorable outing for the state.
