Gorkha Pathshala, RB AnupChand cruise to big wins

Shillong, April 20: Gorkha Pathshala School and RB AnupChand Hindi Secondary School registered convincing victories in the Inter-School Under-18 Cricket Tournament 2026, organised by the Shillong Cricket Association, with both matches turning into largely one-sided affairs.
Gorkha Pathshala School thrashed Little Angels School by 10 wickets after a disciplined bowling display. Opting to bat first, Little Angels were bowled out for just 49 in 13.1 overs, with Shubham Kumar top-scoring with 19. Abhay Kumar Mahato starred with the ball, claiming 3 for 5, while Karan Chettri picked up two wickets.
In reply, Gorkha Pathshala chased down the target in just 2.1 overs without losing a wicket. Md Sk Amir remained unbeaten on 26 off 12 balls, while Basant Budha smashed 14 not out off four deliveries. Abhay Kumar Mahato was named Player of the Match.
In the second match, RB AnupChand Hindi Secondary School defeated St Xavier’s Secondary School by seven wickets. St Xavier’s were bowled out for 77 in 12.1 overs, with Vinay Kumar scoring 11.Deepak Ray was the standout performer, taking 5 for 15, while Shankar Shah chipped in with two wickets. Chasing 78, RB AnupChand rode on Shivam Ray’s quickfire 46 off 21 balls to reach 81 for 3 in just 5.4 overs. Deepak Ray was adjudged Player of the Match for his match-winning spell.
