Madonna made a high-profile return to the Coachella stage alongside headliner Sabrina Carpenter, calling the experience a “full circle” and “historic” moment as she previewed her upcoming album Confessions II.
Sharing images on Instagram, the pop icon thanked Carpenter and the team behind the performance for helping her bring the new project to the festival where she first performed Confessions on a Dance Floor nearly 20 years ago.
Madonna said she was “still flying high” after the show, describing it as a deeply emotional return.
She recalled performing at Coachella in 2006 in the dance tent, when she first introduced Confessions on a Dance Floor to a US audience.
Returning in 2026, she said, felt like a “full circle moment” and “a moment in history I will never forget,” adding that she felt “so free” on stage.
During the performance, she wore a purple corset, gloves, stockings, and boots, some of which she said were original pieces from her 2006 stage wardrobe.
Madonna also premiered a new song from Confessions II, linking her latest work to her earlier dance music era.
However, she later revealed that several archival costume pieces used during the performance had gone missing, calling them “part of her history.”
She appealed to fans for help in recovering the items and offered a reward for their safe return.
At 67, Madonna reflected on her long career and cultural impact, highlighting her influence on music across decades and her extensive catalogue of hit albums and songs.
Her Coachella return not only celebrated her legacy but also marked the launch of a new creative phase with Confessions II, reinforcing her continued relevance in global pop music. (Agencies)
