Actor Shraddha Kapoor couldn’t stop praising rumoured boyfriend Rahul Mody, swooning over his latest advertisement with Saiyaara star Aneet Padda. Sharing the advertisement clip on her Instagram, Shraddha gave a shoutout to Mody, calling him ‘talented’. The relationship rumours surrounding Shraddha Kapoor and Rahul Mody first began circulating when the two were seen attending public events together, including a wedding. In June 2024, the Stree actress seemingly appeared to confirm her romance officially on social media. (ANI)

Restored Umrao Jaan set for European premiere

A newly restored print of the 1981 period musical drama Umrao Jaan is set for its European premiere at the Tongues on Fire UK Asian Film Festival (UKAFF), which opens in London next week. The 4K restoration of the classic tracing the journey of a Lucknow courtesan and poet, portrayed by Rekha, was undertaken by the National Film Archive of India. The UKAFF screening at the British Film Institute (BFI) IMAX will be followed by director Muzaffar Ali’s reflections. It forms part of a long line-up of films and associated cinematic events connected with the South Asian experience around this year’s theme of ‘Stories That Bind Us’. The festival will close on May 10 with its annual UKAFF Awards, with filmmaker Muzaffar Ali set to receive the Golden Flame Lifetime Achievement Award. (PTI)

Assamese film Moromor Deuta to hit screens on May 15

Assamese feature film Moromor Deuta, based on a celebrated novel by eminent litterateur and National Award-winning filmmaker Dr Bhabendra Nath Saikia, will hit the screens on May 15. Adapted from one of Late Dr Saikia’s most popular literary works, originally published in children’s magazine Saphura during 1989, 90, Moromor Deuta (Beloved Father) carries forward a legacy that has resonated deeply with readers across generations. ‘The film aims to bring this timeless story to the big screen with a fresh contemporary cinematic vision,’ director Himjyoti Talukdar said in a statement on Sunday. Wicked star Marissa Bode was ‘denied boarding a flight’

Hollywood actress Marissa Bode, who is known for her work in Wicked, recently opened up on the discrimination that she faced as a differently abled person. The actress posted a video on TikTok claiming she was recently barred from a Southern Airways flight because of her wheelchair, reports ‘Variety’. She said, “I was denied boarding a flight because I’m disabled. I wish that were clickbait. I wish that were false, but that is what happened”. As per ‘Variety’, she explained that she was having trouble locating her virtual ticket before boarding her flight to Pennsylvania. When she asked the crew for assistance, they informed her she was not allowed on the plane because of her wheelchair. (IANS)

Rapper-songwriter Megan Thee Stallion has called it quits with NBA star Klay Thompson, several months after they took their relationship public. According to People, Megan Thee Stallion, in a statement, confirmed their breakup and accused Thompson of “infidelity.” “I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay. Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward. I’m taking this time to prioritise myself and move ahead with peace and clarity,” the statement read. This came shortly after the rapper had shared a scathing post on social media, appearing to be accusing the basketball player of cheating. (ANI)
