Roll Ball championship concludes in Shillong

Shillong, April 26: Assam and Jharkhand emerged champions in the women’s and men’s categories respectively at the 2nd Senior East Zone National Roll Ball Championship 2026, which concluded on Saturday at the JN Sports Complex in Shillong.
The two-day tournament featured teams from Assam, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Odisha, Meghalaya and Nagaland, producing several exciting and high-intensity matches.
The championship was organised by the Meghalaya Roll Ball Association under the aegis of the Roll Ball Federation of India in collaboration with Meghalaya’s Department of Sports & Youth Affairs.In the women’s final, Assam defeated Jharkhand to claim the title, while hosts Meghalaya finished third.
The men’s final also featured Assam and Jharkhand, but this time Jharkhand turned the tables to lift the championship trophy, with Assam finishing runners-up. Meghalaya and Odisha shared the third position.
