A wide range of film stars from across South and Indian cinema congratulated actor-turned-politician Vijay as early trends in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections 2026 showed his party, Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), leading in around 110 of 234 constituencies.
Several celebrities, including Telugu actors Nani, Sharwanand, Sai Dharam Tej, Vijay Deverakonda, Ram Pothineni, and Sundeep Kishan, along with Tamil stars Vikram, Sivakarthikeyan, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and music composer Santhosh Narayanan, praised Vijay’s political debut and expressed optimism about the mandate.
Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff and Malayalam actor Aju Varghese also extended wishes.
Nani described Vijay’s rise as an “underdog story” and said it reflected strong public trust, calling it “absolute cinema or politics.”
Sai Dharam Tej hailed it as a “groundbreaking win” driven by public support, while Sharwanand said Vijay had earned millions’ trust from cinema to leadership.
Vijay Deverakonda called it a “historic shift in Tamil politics,” congratulating voters for their participation.
Ram Pothineni praised Vijay for standing firm despite challenges.
Tamil actor Sivakarthikeyan congratulated Vijay for winning his first election and said the film industry took pride in his success.
Vikram shared a photo with Vijay and called it a historic moment, while Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Santhosh Narayanan highlighted it as a “people’s verdict” and a major political shift.
Kajal Aggarwal, who has acted with Vijay, said the result reflected his vision and deep connection with the public, while Sundeep Kishan and others celebrated what they called a “historic achievement.”
TVK, launched in February 2024 and registered in September 2024, marked Vijay’s formal entry into politics, with supporters and film colleagues viewing the result as a significant turning point in Tamil Nadu’s political landscape. (Agencies)
