Shillong, May 8: The 55th KVS Regional Sports Meet 2026 for Under-14 and Under-17 boys’ and girls’ football concluded successfully at Kendriya Vidyalaya NEHU after three days of spirited competition from May 4 to 6.
Teams from various Kendriya Vidyalayas across the region participated in the tournament, displaying enthusiasm, discipline and sportsmanship throughout the event.In the Under-14 boys’ category, KV NEHU emerged champions with a perfect tally of nine points after winning all three of their matches. KV Happy Valley finished second, while EAC Upper Shillong secured the third position.KV NEHU continued their dominance in the Under-17 boys’ category as well, clinching the championship title. KV Happy Valley once again finished runners-up, while EAC Upper Shillong ended in third place.In the Under-17 girls’ category, EAC Upper Shillong claimed the top honours by winning both their matches, while KV NEHU finished in second place.The meet was conducted under the supervision of Principal K Alung Khumba along with regional sports officials and staff members of KV NEHU Shillong.
