SHILLONG, May 12: The High Court of Meghalaya will hear the state government’s petition challenging the bail granted to murder accused Sonam Raghuvanshi on May 18.
The matter was listed for hearing on Tuesday.
The state government has challenged the bail granted to Sonam by a trial court last month in connection with the murder of her husband and Indore resident Raja Raghuvanshi in Sohra last year.
During the hearing on Tuesday, Sonam’s counsel, Sudeep Rana and special public prosecutor Nitin Khera were also present.
Recently, the trial court rejected the bail applications of four other co-accused—Raj Kushwaha, Akash Rajput, Vishal Singh Chauhan and Anand Kurmi—who had moved the court seeking relief on parity with co-accused Sonam.
