Shillong, May 12: The Meghalaya State Olympic Association will organise the seventh edition of the 10K Olympic Day Run for men and women above 17 years of age as part of the Olympic Day celebrations on June 27, 2026.
The annual event, which has steadily grown in popularity among fitness enthusiasts and runners across the state, will follow the same route used during last year’s edition. The run is aimed at promoting the Olympic spirit, encouraging a healthy lifestyle and fostering greater public participation in sports and physical activities.
According to the organisers, attractive cash rewards have been earmarked for the top performers in both categories. Winners will receive a cash prize of ₹5,000, while the runners-up and third-place finishers will take home ₹3,000 and ₹2,000 respectively. In addition, five consolation prizes worth ₹500 each will also be awarded.
Special gifts will be presented to participants above 55 years of age who successfully complete the race, recognising their enthusiasm and commitment towards fitness and sportsmanship.
The organisers also informed that refreshments will be provided to all participants after the completion of the run. Free event T-shirts will be distributed on the day of the race on a first come, first served basis.
Registration for the event is free of cost and interested participants can submit their entries at the MSOA office located at the JN Stadium between 2 PM and 5 PM.
The last date for submission of entries has been fixed for June 19, 2026.
