SHILLONG, May 13: The state government is set to spend approximately Rs 9 crore on the construction of new residential apartments for IAS and MCS officers behind Taraghar in Shillong.
The Office of the Chief Engineer, PWD (Buildings), has issued a Short Notice Inviting Tender (SNIT) for the project, which has been divided into two distinct categories.
The first group, valued at approximately Rs 4.45 crore, involves the construction of a G+3 RCC residential complex specifically for IAS officers. The scope of work includes the dismantling of an existing Assam-type building, site preparation and the construction of retaining walls and a parking area.
The building will also be equipped with a 13-person capacity elevator.
The second group, with a tender value of roughly Rs 4.25 crore, focuses on a G+3 RCC apartment block for MCS officers. This package includes comprehensive site development, an approach road, three gates and a water tank. Additionally, the complex will feature a rainwater harvesting system, street lighting, air conditioning, a backup DG set and a 13-person elevator.
The move is part of the government’s efforts to upgrade housing infrastructure for senior civil servants stationed in the state capital.
