Guwahati, May 14: At a time when the CBSE Class XII results across India witnessed a sharp fall in overall pass percentage, lower average scoring trends and increased concerns over stricter evaluation patterns, Royal Global School (RGS) has emerged as a beacon of academic excellence with an exceptional performance in the CBSE AISSCE Grade XII Examination 2026.
The CBSE Class XII overall national pass percentage this year dropped to 85.20 percent from 88.39 percent last year — the lowest in the post-Covid years — following the introduction of the new on-screen evaluation system and noticeably tougher question papers in several core subjects.
Educationists and students across the country have particularly highlighted the increased difficulty level in subjects like Mathematics and Physics, which significantly impacted scoring patterns this year. Reports indicate that Physics scores dipped nationally, with even leading schools witnessing fewer high scorers and centum marks in the subject.
Against this challenging national backdrop, Royal Global School not only secured a 100 percent pass result but also achieved an impressive overall school average of 84.07 percent, reflecting the institution’s strong academic ecosystem, disciplined mentoring culture and consistent focus on conceptual learning.
Adding further distinction to the achievement, 47 out of 139 students — nearly one-third of the batch — secured above 90 percent marks, a remarkable accomplishment in a year when high-scoring percentages witnessed a decline nationally due to tougher evaluation and question standards.
Leading the school this year was Humanities student Zaveri Tahsin, who emerged as the overall topper with an outstanding 98.6 percent. Teesta Bora topped the Science stream with 96.2 percent, while Tripti Agarwal secured 96 percent to emerge as the Commerce topper.
The results witnessed exceptional performances across all streams, with students consistently securing scores in the top brackets despite the demanding examination pattern. Among the notable achievers were Ananya Borkotoky and Navya Ojha with 97 percent, Devangi Jalan and Reeha Bhuyan with 96.6 percent, Anusha Bharadwaj with 96.4 percent, Sayantana Saikia with 96.2 percent, Aarav Goel with 95.6 percent, Ramdeep Kaur with 95.4 percent, Darrsh More with 95.2 percent and Kushal Gupta and Siddhant Sen Deka with 95 percent. Several students also secured perfect scores of 100 in subjects including Psychology, Political Science, Entrepreneurship and Painting.
Congratulating the students, teachers and parents on the remarkable achievement, Dr. A. K. Pansari, Chairman of Royal Global School, said, “The 2026 CBSE results have proven to be among the most challenging in recent years due to stricter evaluation methods and tougher question papers. In such a scenario, the exceptional performance of Royal Global School students becomes even more meaningful. These results are reflections of perseverance, discipline, conceptual clarity and the spirit of excellence nurtured within the institution. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to every student, teacher and parent for making the RGS family proud.”
Dr. Arup Kumar Mukhopadhyay, Director of Royal Global School, said, “This year’s CBSE examination pattern clearly tested analytical understanding and conceptual strength, especially in subjects like Physics and Mathematics. Despite the nationwide decline in scores and pass percentages, Royal Global School students have performed extraordinarily well, which speaks volumes about the academic mentoring and learning environment at RGS. The achievement of 47 students scoring above 90 percent in such a demanding year is truly commendable and a matter of immense pride for the entire school community.”
The management further highlighted that Royal Global School students continue to excel not only in board examinations but also in competitive examinations, research initiatives, innovation-driven projects and global higher education opportunities, with students securing admissions and recognitions at leading institutions across India and abroad.
Admissions for Grade XI for the academic session 2026–27 in Science, Commerce and Humanities streams are currently open, the school informed.
