SHILLONG, May 21: Justice (retd) Tinilangthang Vaiphei, who was heading the Commission of Inquiry into the three-day violence in Garo Hills in March, has quit the Commission, days after it was constituted.
Sources said that Justice Vaiphei resigned from the Commission on health grounds as the inquiry involves multiple trips to Tura.
The state government had instituted the Commission to probe into the three-day violence in Garo Hills in March relating to the filing of nomination papers for the now-postponed GHADC election.
