Idris Elba: Never in line for Bond

Idris Elba has dismissed rumours linking him to the role of the next James Bond, saying he was “never in the race” to replace Daniel Craig. In an interview with People, Elba said the franchise is looking for a younger actor and wished the makers success for the upcoming film. Earlier this month, Amazon MGM Studios officially began casting for the next Bond film, tentatively titled Bond 26. Acclaimed casting director Nina Gold has reportedly been hired to lead the search. The film will be directed by Denis Villeneuve, while Steven Knight will write the screenplay. The long-running Bond franchise has previously featured actors including Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig. (PTI)

Paul Rudd recalls being a DJ before becoming a star

Paul Rudd recently reflected on his time working as a DJ before becoming a Hollywood star. Speaking at a screening of Power Ballad in New York, Rudd recalled DJing at weddings, birthdays and Bat mitzvahs during college. He joked that MC Hammer’s Can’t Touch This got kids dancing, while music by Glenn Miller worked for grandparents. Rudd also spoke about struggling through odd jobs before fame and said success came slowly in the pre-social media era. Praising co-star Nick Jonas, Rudd called him a talented actor and musician, saying his subtle performance in the film deeply impressed him. (IANS)

Miley Cyrus describes herself as a ‘logical wild card’

Miley Cyrus says she likes being “reliably unpredictable” and describes herself as a “logical wild card.” Speaking to Variety, the singer shared that although she is not deeply into astrology, she relates to traits associated with her Sagittarius sign. Miley explained that she enjoys making bold choices but carefully thinks them through before acting. The singer also reflected on her time playing Hannah Montana in the hit Hannah Montana. She joked about the show’s early wig styling and said the character became as magical to fans as Mickey Mouse. Miley added that the true magic came from the person behind the character, not the costumes or fame. She also revealed she helped inspire the upcoming 20th anniversary special by speaking about it publicly first. (IANS)

Hema Malini accepts Dharmendra’s posthumous Padma Vibhushan

Hema Malini received the posthumous Padma Vibhushan on behalf of her late husband Dharmendra from President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Hema Malini appeared emotional during the ceremony while accepting the honour for the veteran actor, who passed away last November at the age of 89. Dharmendra, one of Bollywood’s most celebrated stars, entered films after winning a nationwide talent contest organised by Filmfare and Bimal Roy Productions in 1958. Meanwhile, Bengali cinema veteran Prosenjit Chatterjee received the Padma Shri for his contribution to Indian cinema. (IANS)
