Daniella to lead Team Meghalaya at national kickboxing c’ship

Shillong, May 29: A 16-member contingent of the Meghalaya State Kickboxing Association (MSKA), comprising 14 boys and two girls, left for Odisha on Friday to participate in the Junior Boys’ and Girls’ National Kickboxing Championship, scheduled to be held in Khurda from May 30 to June 3.
The Meghalaya team will be coached by international kickboxer Daniella I W Mylliemngap of Lumparing Lumdorbar.
The championship is being organised by the Odisha State Kickboxing Association under the aegis of the WAKO India Kickboxing Federation, recognised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. The federation is affiliated with the World Association of Kickboxing Organisations (WAKO), headquartered in Italy.
The Meghalaya squad includes Benjamin Nongtraw (Low Kick, below 54kg), Aedriel Gordon Ranee (K1 Rules, below 47kg), Aldrin Osmond Pariat (K1 Rules, below 60kg), Derick Dashankur Nongrum (K1 Rules, below 54kg), Arrishot Bitdor Mawlieh (Low Kick, below 51kg), Darren Ervim Blah (Full Contact, below 51kg), Saikuparlang Phanbuh (Low Kick, below 54kg), Sumarlang Kharumnuid (K1 Rules, below 56kg), Enkupar Wahlang (K1 Rules, below 50kg), Misariio Nongdhar (Full Contact, below 45kg), Nangsanshaphrang Kharbithai (Kick Light and Light Contact, below 45kg), Merapkerlang Lyngwa (Full Contact, below 63kg), Erickson Nongkynrih (Low Kick, below 50kg), Hamebuhnam Pathaw (Full Contact, below 45kg), Nathania Mylliem of Umpling (Low Kick, below 48kg) and Wanlarihun Kharbuki (Full Contact, below 48kg).
The championship will be conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations laid down by WAKO Italy and the WAKO India Kickboxing Federation.
MSKA officials highlighted the association’s impressive achievements since August 2017, with Meghalaya kickboxers winning 101 gold, 99 silver and 112 bronze medals at various competitions.
