Janhvi Kapoor faces unexpected incident at Peddi launch

Actress Janhvi Kapoor had a brief scare during a promotional event for her upcoming film Peddi when an overenthusiastic fan attempted to approach co-star Ram Charan. Videos circulating on social media show the fan rushing toward the stage while Ram Charan and Janhvi were seated together. In the process of trying to reach the actor and shake his hand, the fan appeared to lose balance and collide with the sofa near Janhvi, startling her. Security personnel quickly intervened, and Ram Charan’s bodyguard Kevin Kunta escorted the fan away. The incident sparked widespread discussion online, with many praising the swift response of the security team and reacting to Janhvi’s startled expression. Later, another video showed the same fan meeting Ram Charan in a controlled setting, where he thanked the actor and bowed at his feet. Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, is scheduled for release on June 4. (IANS)

FWICE accuses RGV of unpaid dues to technicians

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has hit back at filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma after he criticised the organisation and suggested it should be banned. FWICE chief advisor Ashoke Pandit alleged that Varma owes more than Rs 1.25 crore to technicians and workers associated with his 2018 Telugu film Officer. Pandit said the dispute has been pending since 2017 and claimed Varma had written to the federation in 2019 seeking additional time to clear outstanding payments. According to Pandit, despite assurances in the letter, the dues remain unpaid. He also demanded an apology from the filmmaker. The remarks came after Varma described FWICE as a “kangaroo court” for issuing a non-cooperation directive against actor Ranveer Singh over his exit from Don 3. FWICE later withdrew the directive after receiving a legal notice from the actor. The controversy has since drawn in several prominent figures from the film industry. (IANS)

Pattinson denies skipping gym for The Batman

Robert Pattinson has dismissed claims that he skipped workouts while preparing for The Batman, saying he trained twice daily, often at 3 a.m., for the role. Speaking to GQ, Pattinson said the perception arose from a joke he made in an earlier interview about exercise being “uncool.” He insisted he worked out every day despite criticism of his physique. The actor, who will return as Bruce Wayne in The Batman: Part II, revealed he has set up a home gym to prepare for the sequel. However, he said he has yet to receive an official filming schedule and only learned about the demanding shoot from his stunt coordinator. Directed by Matt Reeves, the sequel is scheduled for release in October 2027. Pattinson will also appear in The Odyssey and Dune: Part Three. (PTI)

Tom Holland discusses unconfortable Sony talks over Spider-Man

Tom Holland has revealed that he asked Sony Pictures to delay production of Spider-Man: Brand New Day so he could work on Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey. Speaking to GQ, Holland said he had an “uncomfortable” conversation with Sony executive Tom Rothman about postponing the Spider-Man project. He believes the delay ultimately benefited the film, allowing director Destin Daniel Cretton time to develop the script. Holland said the extra time helped create the best possible version of the movie. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled for release on July 31. (PTI)
