CBSE reveals nearly 44,000 applications filed for re-evaluation
New Delhi, June 3: Nearly 44,000 students have availed the verification and re-evaluation facility for board exams and completed the application process till Wednesday morning, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has said. The board said the online portal has received a total of 43,980 applications for verification and re-evaluation of answer sheets. “The portal has accepted 4,924 applications for verification and 39,056 applications for re-evaluation (total of 43,980) as of 12 noon today,” the CBSE said in a post on X on Wednesday. The development comes following concerns raised by some students and parents over the on-screen marking (OSM) system used by the board. The CBSE has faced criticism from students and parents over technical glitches, payment failures and access-related issues during the verification and re-evaluation process. (PTI)
Stones pelted on ‘Khan Sir’ coaching institute in Patna; 3 held
Patna, June 3: A coaching institute of educator Faisal Khan, popularly known as ‘Khan Sir’, was allegedly vandalised and pelted with stones in Patna, officials said on Wednesday. Police said three people, including the director of a rival coaching centre, have been arrested in connection with the incident. Khan initially claimed that firing took place at the institution, but police could not confirm it. However, he later said that an investigation would find out what exactly happened. The incident took place at Khan Global Coaching Institute in Kadamkuan police station area on Tuesday night, police officials said. Preliminary investigation and examination of CCTV footage indicated that around 15 to 20 people associated with another coaching institute in Patna were allegedly involved in the stone-pelting and vandalism act, it added.
