Young kickboxers eye national glory

SHILLONG, June 14: A seven-member Meghalaya contingent has left for Indore, Madhya Pradesh, to participate in the Sub-Junior National Kickboxing Championship, scheduled to be held from June 17 to 21.
The team comprises four girls and three boys, all students of St Francis De Sales Secondary School, Laitkor, and will compete in various cadet, children and sub-junior categories.
The athletes are Dajied Kyrpang Synjri (below 48kg Kick Light and Low Kick), Zyarra Kharkongor (below 38kg Light Contact), Bashanpaia Kharkongor (below 40kg Kick Light), Heilina Sad (below 42kg Light Contact), Adiel Elhanan Marbaniang (below 28kg Point Fighting), Abigail Ridamaka L Pyngrope (below 40kg Kick Light) and Ribhadaker Bina (below 48kg Light Contact).
