Tree plantation
A tree plantation programmee was held at Gorkha Shamshan Ghat, Mawbah, on Sunday by the Gorkha Association, Shillong, in collaboration with Gorkha Shamshan Ghat Samity, Mawbah. The programme aimed to spread awareness among citizens about global warming. The theme of programmee was ‘Plant Tree, Plant Hope. Think Green, Go Green, Live Green and Let Us Save Our Children’s Tomorrow’. Tree saplings of different varieties were planted. The association has also vowed to hold tree plantation programmee annually.
