Shillong, June 30: Meghalaya produced an outstanding performance at the All National Jeet Kune Do Championship 2026, emerging as the Overall Team Champion after topping the standings with 300 points at the three-day event held in Guwahati, Assam.
Organised by the United Jeet Kune Do Federation of India (UJKDFI), the championship took place from June 26 to 28 at the Bishnu Nirmala Trust Indoor Hall in Uzan Bazar.A 60-member contingent represented the Meghalaya Jeet Kune Do Association (MJKA), with the athletes delivering impressive performances across various competition categories. The team was led by D. Ranee and Bajoplin Kharmudai, who guided the contingent throughout the championship.Meghalaya finished on top with 300 points, ahead of Manipur, which secured the runners-up spot with 250 points, while hosts Assam placed third with 150 points.The state’s technical and officiating duties were handled by Kitbok Dkhar and Hammylienki Dkhar, who served as officials during the championship, contributing to the smooth conduct of the event.The overall team title capped a successful outing for Meghalaya, underlining the state’s growing stature in Jeet Kune Do at the national level.
