Gratitude

The Mawbah Muharram Akhara Committee, Shillong, has expressed its heartfelt gratitude to all participants, government officials, security personnel and community leaders for their support and cooperation in ensuring the successful conduct of the Muharram procession on June 26. In a statement issued on behalf of the committee, joint secretary Arif A Khongsit thanked the Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills, the Superintendent of Police, local MLA Paul Lyngdoh, officials of the Lumdiengjri Traffic Branch, personnel of the Jhalupara Police Outpost and the Mawbah Dorbar Shnong for their assistance and coordination during the religious event.

Clarification

Apropos of the photo published in this paper on July 2, the Rotary Club Shillong Heritage has clarified that the abbreviation ARC in the caption stands for “Assam Regimental Centre” and not “Assam Rifles Centre”.
