SHILLONG, July 6: The High Court of Meghalaya on Monday granted the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) one week to file a status report in the ongoing PIL concerning the NH-6 road repair project.
The NHAI counsel told the court that former PIU-Shillong official Anand Singh Chauhan, against whom contempt proceedings are pending, was arrested by the CBI on July 1, 2026. He had earlier been transferred to PIU-Hanuman Ghat and will appear before the court after his release.
The matter is listed for further hearing on July 13, 2026.
