M’laya’s Pinky Narzary officiates at World Para Taekwondo event

Shillong, July 9: Meghalaya’s taekwondo fraternity has earned international recognition after Pinky Narzary of the All Meghalaya Taekwondo Association (AMTA) represented India as an international referee at the prestigious G4 World Para Taekwondo Ranking Event held in Chuncheon, South Korea.
Narzary was the only female referee from India selected to officiate at the elite Para Taekwondo competition, marking a significant achievement for both Meghalaya and the country.Expressing her delight, Narzary said the event provided her with an opportunity to learn the latest techniques, officiating standards and best practices in Para Taekwondo, which she hopes to introduce in Meghalaya.“I have gained valuable experience and learned new skills and techniques, which I will apply to benefit athletes in Meghalaya,” she said.She also announced that the All Meghalaya Taekwondo Association plans to begin training programmes for para athletes in the near future, aiming to promote greater participation and development of Para Taekwondo in the state.
