Dubai, July 11: Former India captains Sourav Ganguly and Anjum Chopra, along with ex-England skipper Kevin Pietersen, were inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame on Saturday.
The trio forms the Class of 2026, taking the total number of inductees to 125.ICC Chairman Jay Shah congratulated the three former captains, saying their achievements would continue to inspire future generations.Ganguly, who scored 7,212 Test runs and 11,363 ODI runs, led India to the 2003 World Cup final and a shared Champions Trophy title in 2002.Chopra became only the second Indian woman to enter the Hall of Fame after a pioneering career in which she became the first Indian woman to score 1,000 ODI runs and play 100 ODIs.Pietersen was honoured for a stellar career that yielded over 13,700 international runs, while playing a key role in England’s 2005 Ashes triumph and 2010 T20 World Cup title.Introduced in 2009, the ICC Hall of Fame honours former players whose achievements have left a lasting impact on international cricket.
