JOWAI, July 14: The Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC), Thombor Shiwat, officially launched the council’s website on Tuesday during a function held at the Council’s Conference Hall.
Developed with technical assistance from the National Informatics Centre (NIC), the website (https://jhadc.nic.in/) is designed to provide the public with easy access to Council laws, regulations, application forms, and fee structures.
Addressing the gathering, Shiwat stated that the portal is part of the Executive Committee’s efforts to digitise information and services. He urged the technical team to ensure the website remains a functional and updated resource for the public.
The event was attended by JHADC Chairman Dr. Sankey Shangpung, Executive Member in charge of Statistics Medling M. Swer, and MDCs from both the ruling and opposition benches.
On the sidelines of the launch, the CEM addressed the issue of long-pending salaries for Council employees. Shiwat informed that following discussions with the state government, the JHADC will soon release all outstanding salary dues in a single installment. He further assured that the Council is working towards ensuring that staff salaries are paid on a regular monthly basis from now on.
