SHILLONG, July 14: A delegation from Meghalaya will take the demand for Institute of National Importance (INI) status for NEIGRIHMS to New Delhi soon. Health Minister Wailadmiki Shylla on Tuesday said Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has agreed to lead the delegation.
Stating that the matter was earlier raised with the Union Health Minister and the Parliamentary Committee on Health, Shylla said the Centre has sought the required documentation to declare INI status to NEIGRIHMS. “They have assured that they will continue to follow up the matter… we are preparing [the documentation],” Shylla said.
