Imphal: Eight human skulls were found in an abandoned school com-plex, which was occupied by central paramilitary forces during the peak of insurgency in early 80s, in Imphal West district of Manipur.
The skulls were found from the complex of Tombisana High School during digging work on December 26, a senior police officer said.
Various social organisations including Families of Involuntary Disappeared Association Manipur (FIDAM) have urged Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh to pass an order for stopping the digging of the complex ground and order a judicial inquiry into the incident.
The school complex was occupied by the central paramilitary forces during the peak of insurgent activities from 1980 to 1999 during which many youth were stated to have either disappeared or arrested by the forces.(PTI)
