Garo priest ordained into holy order

RESUBELPARA: The Catholic faithful of Garo Hills celebrated the ordination of a young priest from Resubelpara on Saturday with thousands taking part in the Holy Eucharistic led by the Bishop of Tura.
Rev. Fr. Rikseng S Sangma joined the holy order during the ordination ceremony administered by Bishop Andrew R Marak which was held at Resubelpara Catholic Church on Saturday.
Father Rikseng is the second son in his family to join the service of God. His elder brother Rev. Fr. Cyril S Sangma was ordained a few years ago.
On Saturday over four thousand Catholic devotees from the far corners of Garo Hills came to the district headquarters of North Garo Hills to take part in the ordination.
Bishop Andrew Marak together with 50 other priests celebrated Holy Mass service.
In his homily Bishop Andrew highlighted the significance of man’s role in the service of God.
The ordination service and subsequent felicitation ceremony was participated by several dignitaries including government officials, deputy commissioner W. Khyllep and Songsak MLA, Nihim D Shira.
