Nine teachers conferred with State Award

 SHILLONG: Nine teachers from different schools of the State were conferred with State Award by the Government in recognition for their outstanding contribution in the field of education.

The State Awards were handed over to the teachers by Education Minister Prof RC Laloo during the Teachers’ Day celebration here at U Soso Tham Auditorium here on Monday.

Besides the State awardees, 21 teachers were conferred with the District Award.

In East Khasi Hills, the State award recipients are Pearly Dew Secondary School, Jaiaw Headmistress Ibarilin Kharsati and Headmaster Dr Radhakrishnan Boy’s Secondary School, Rynjah, Swarup Kumar Choudhury.

In West Khasi Hills, Wahsangem LP School head teacher Sterian Shanpliang was the State award recipient while recipient of the award in Jaintia Hills is Thangbuli Primary School Headmaster Hermon Tariang.However, in Ri-Bhoi district, the state award recipient is Alpha English Higher Secondary School, Nongpoh Headmistress Wanda K Blah while in South Garo Hills, Ashugre Secondary School Headmistress Jellitha M Sangma got the State award.In East Garo Hills, the state award recipient is Bolkinggiri Deficit UP School Headmaster Harum K Marak while in West Garo Hills there are two recipients of the award- Batabari Deficit UP School teacher Binethson R Marak and Chigichakgre Government LP School headteacher Kithson Ch Marak.
