Prohibition along NH-40

NONGPOH: The District Magistrate, Ri Bhoi on Friday imposed Section 144CrPC prohibiting construction and operation of makeshift stalls for illicit stockpiling and sale of coal along the National Highway-40. The order was issued in order to do away with the makeshift stalls that sprang up overnight along NH-40 stockpiling and selling coal which has been offloaded from coal-laden trucks en route for the integrated check gate at Umling.
