SHILLONG: ANVC-B leader Bernard Rimpu Marak on Thursday reiterated his demand for early sanction of the rehabilitation packages for former cadres of the outfit ‘in the interest of lasting peace in the State’.
In a memorandum submitted to Home Minister Roshan Warjri, Rimpu lamented that ANVC cadres were promised a package of Rs.2.5 lakh each but the Government had failed to announce the same package for   ANVC-B cadres raising doubts that the authorities are being partial.
Stating that it is close to six months since the cadres signed the peace agreement, Rimpu rued the lack of initiative for rehabilitation of the ex-cadres.
Rimpu also feared that the continued indifference on the part of the government would lead to a sense of frustration among the cadres and force them back to the jungle.
