London: Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor’s prized jewellery collection is going under the hammer and is expected to fetch more than USD 30 million.

The actress’ collection of 300 pieces, including rings, earrings, necklaces, brooches and tiaras, will go under the hammer at Christie’s auction house in New York in December, reported The Telegraph.

Among the highlights hitting the auction block are the 33.19-carat Elizabeth Taylor Diamond, the Duchess of Windsor Wallis Simpson’s plume pin and La Peregrina, one of the largest pearls in the world, which Richard Burton gave Taylor in 1969 as a Valentine’s Day gift.

“This is without a doubt the greatest private collection of jewellery assembled in one place,” said Marc Porter, chairman and president of Christie’s America.

A portion of profits from the sale will reportedly benefit the Elizabeth Taylor Aids Foundation. (PTI)
