Prohibition
With the Autumn Session of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly to commence from Friday, The District Magistrate of East Khasi Hills District has prohibited all types of procession, carrying of arms ,assembling of five or more persons etc within 200 metres radius of the Arts and Culture Building at Rilbong which is the temporary location of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly.
MPSC Cell inaugurated
The Deputy Commissioner Jaintia Hills, T Dkhar inaugurated the Jowai MPSC Cell in the third floor of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office building at Jowai. Informing the gathering, Dkhar said besides the MPSC Cell, other demands of the district like the MBOSE Cell and Blood Bank have also been taken up.
Clarification
The additional SP (traffic) has clarified that no vehicles would be allowed to take right turn from Shillong Law College and all vehicles proceeding to Madan Malki will have to enter the area via Seven Set School.
SK oil released
The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills has informed that subsidised kerosene (SK) oil for the month og September has been released and will be distributed through the SK oil retailers.
Free Eye Camp
The Pynthorumkhrah Constituency Progressive People’s Committee , Pynthorumkhrah Unit in collaboration with Bansara Eye Care centre, Shillong will organise free eye camp and eye checkup at Pynthorbah Community Hall on September 10.
Alumni meet

Dead body
One Thren Mewa (70), male, resident of Upper Lumparing died at Shillong Civil Hospital on Sep 6.Concerned relatives are asked to collect the body from the morgue of within three days failing of which the dead body will be send for disposal by the Shillong Municipal Board.
