Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki said that efforts were on to air link the state by fixed-wing aircrafts with advanced landing airports at Aalo, Pasighat, Tezu, Ziro and Mechuka likely to be made operational this year.
“I have moved the Centre and assured private airliners interested to operate from the state to compensate their losses in case of inadequate passengers,” the chief minister told reporters here on Wednesday night after inaugurating the Frankfinn Institute of Airhostess Taining.
The advance landing airport at Vijoynagar in Changlang district is in operation since November 18, 2011, he said.
“The union civil aviation ministry has also been requested to make Guwahati-Lilabari flight regular while the construction of Itanagar Greenfield airport is being expedited,” he added.
Earlier, appreciating the endeavour of Frankfinn, he said it would create employment opportunities for talented youth of the state.
He said that he had initiated the job ‘mela’ at Itanagar in August 2013 and set-up Employment Generation Council and Skill Development Council with a target to create one lakh jobs by 2017.
40,000 have been trained by vocational training providers so far and many of them have set up their own enterprises while several were employed in various parts of India.
Such training makes one a good human being and hones inherent skills to get a secured job, the chief minister said and assured of all possible financial support to Frankfinn.
The institute would provide best opportunities to join aviation and hospitality industry, said state’s industries and skill development secretary K J R Burman.
Frankfinn’s east-west regional head (training and placement) Chandni Ghosh through a presentation highlighted that the institute plans to bridge the gap in the Indian aviation industry, now 9th globally and poised to be third by 2020 after the US and China. (PTI)
