Imphal: Enraged locals destroyed windows and some equipments of a private hospital here after a woman who was to undergo a surgical operation died, police sources said on Saturday.
The 42-year old, M Bheigyabati who was to undergo surgical operation to remove stone from kidney was brought in at the operation theatre of Chambers Hospital here on Thursday night at around 9.30 pm after giving anaesthetic medicines.
On Friday morning, family members were informed that Bheigyabati has passed away.
Enraged over the alleged negligence of the doctors, family members and locals destroyed windows and some hospital equipments.
Angou Singh, husband of the victim, has lodged a complaint with nearby city police station who said they would investigate the matter thoroughly. (PTI)
