Smita Basu has been awarded PhD in Chemistry by Jagiellonian University, Kraków, Poland, for her thesis ‘Enantioselective Vinylogous Mukaiyama-Mischak reaction with acyclic Silyi dienolates’. She carried out her research work as an exchange student at the University of Leipzing, Germany, under the supervision of Prof. Christoph Schneider and co-supervisor Prof. Jacek Mlynarski, Jagiellonian University. She is the daughter of M.K. Basu and R. Basu and wife of Dr. C. Masharing.
