GNLA-police exchange fire, arms recovered

TURA: West Garo Hills Police narrowly missed a group of GNLA militants taking shelter in a house in Amingokgre village near Dadenggre on Thursday despite launching an operation following reports about movement of armed men in the area.
When police commandos were approaching a house in the village they were reportedly fired upon by as many as half a dozen militants leading to exchange of fire.
Following consistent firing by police the ultras fled the scene leaving behind a 9mm automatic pistol with two magazines and 29 live rounds of 7.65 mm ammunition along with GNLA  demand notes and other incriminating documents.
