SHILLONG: A five-day art residency entitled “Maitri-India China Women Artists’ Residency” was inaugurated at the New Art Gallery, State Central Library premises on Saturday.
Organized by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and Department of Art and Culture, government of Meghalaya, the exhibition showcased paintings from 10 Indian women artists and nine Chinese artists including seven women and two men.
Regional Director ICCR, Shillong S.P. Kakoti Bora said that the main objective of the exhibition was to showcase the talent of Indian as well as Chinese artists and also to inspire local talents.
