NONGPOH: With an aim and objective in providing proper information on various Postal life insurance implemented by the Post Office in the District, the Meghalaya Postal Division, Shillong on August 11 organized a one day mass awareness programme at Nongpoh Community Hall, Ri-Bhoi.
During the programme, resources persons from the Post Office which includes S. C. Brahmma, Chief Post Master General North East Postal Civil, Dr. Alice K. Vizo, The Sr. Superintendent of Post Office Meghalaya Division, Shillong enlightened the general public who attended the programme on various postal life insurance which is implemented by the Post Office in the District.
The awareness programme are well attended by local people of Ri-Bhoi and renown persons comprising Bull Lyngdoh, local headman of Nongpoh, A.C Bamon, Principal, Ri-Bhoi College, W. Radu. Principal RBP, Higher Secondary School and other well-known persons of the District.
The Schemes which was informed by the post office include Sukanya Samridhi Yojana (SSA), Saving Banak (SB), Recuring Deposit (RD), and Postal Life Insurance (PLI).
