Five-day Assembly session from today

SHILLONG: The short  Autumn session of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, which is set to begin from Wednesday, is unlikely to be stormy as many prominent political parties are now busy with the October 12 GHADC polls .
The session which is beginning from Wednesday, will have five working days including three days of Government business and two days for private members. The session will conclude on September 23.
However, during the session, NPP is all set to raise issues like the functioning of the Arts and Culture department besides   the poor quality of road constructions undertaken in the state.
Altogether 12 motions besides two resolutions are likely to be taken up during the Autumn session.
UDP will also raise the issue of complete collapse of road infrastructure in the state besides the burning issue of Building Bye laws being implemented in the state.
HSPDP MLA Ardent Basaiawmoit will move two resolutions in the Assembly.
While one is for introduction of Article 371 to the state of Meghalaya, another resolution is to bring an amendment to the Meghalaya   Transfer of Land Regulation Act 1972.
