NONGSTOIN: Rambrai Jyrngam Legislator KP Pangniang has decided to step down as an MDC.
Informing this here on Friday, Pangniang told newsmen that he took the decision as the Meghalaya Assembly passed an amendment Bill which bars a member of the Assembly from holding an elected post in the autonomous district councils.  Pangniang is the second KHADC MDC to quit after the State Assembly passed the amendment Bill. HSPDP legislator Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit resigned soon after the House passed the Bill on Thursday.
Prior to this the District Council Affairs Minister HDR Lyngdoh quit the MDC’s post.
Pangniang, who has been representing Rambrai Jyrngam seat in the Council since 2009, said he would send the resignation letter to the KHADC Chairman shortly.
