Woman, infant drowned
On October 8, one Miskila M. Marak (25 years) and her five-month-old son, Naksam M. Marak, drowned while crossing the Umiam River at Mawthrieng under Umiam Police Station (Ri Bhoi).
Myanmarese held
On October 8 at around 7.30 am, BSF personnel apprehended one Myanmar national, Chali (36) while he was crossing the international border without valid documents at Pyrdiwah in East Khasi Hills. Police arrested the intruder.
Two murdered 
On October 9 at around at 11.45 pm, one Kolestar Khongjoh (31) murdered two persons, Bishop Buhphang (55) and Alexander Rani (40) at Wahlyngkhat village (EKH). Police arrested the accused.
One killed in accident
On October 9, at around 6.30 pm, one truck (AS-01BD-4257), driven by Weilad Mukhim entered through the wrong lane at 17th Mile (RB) and dashed against one motorcycle (ML-10B-1544) ridden by Wenes Thangkhiew. As a result, the motorcycle rider died on the spot.
Theft
On October 3, two persons, Princefort D. Shira and Bonkam D. Sangma, were apprehended while they were stealing copper wire valued around Rs. 2,50,000 from MBOSE Administrative building, Tura (WGH). One Jimbert R. Marak, Asst. Care Taker is also involved in the crime.
On October 10, unknown miscreants broke into the house of Marilyne Ngurthansangi at Nongrim Hills and stole one cell phone.
On October 10 at about 11.25 am, unknown miscreants stole one scooty (ML-05M-7408) belonging to Vincent Lyngdoh from Laitumkhrah, Shillong.
Injured  
On October 10 at around 12.10 am, one Rynthi Marbaniang (28) fell down from the running truck (number not known) at Mawblei.  As a result, he sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital.
On October  9 at around  9.30 pm, one motorcycle (ML-05G-0435) ridden by Santosh Singh (29) met with an accident with one scooter (ML-05A-9113) ridden by Bokmi Sumer (26) at Polo,  As a result, the rider of the scooter sustained injuries and was shifted to Civil Hospital, Shillong.
