Buddhist festival to be held in city

SHILLONG: Kathin Chibordaan, a festival of highest sacrifice of Buddhist faithful, will be observed at Buddha Temple, Polo Hills on November 1.
Four Buddhist monks from Bodh Gaya, Bihar will perform the ceremony of Chibordaan, organized annually to pay obeisance to the departed souls. On the occasion Buddhist devotees will donate ochre robes to the visiting monks as the festival highlights the importance of sacrifice in life.
